Prize winner of the Best Soloist in “Mozarteum”, Salzburg 2008. Carles Marín has also been awarded the following prices in International Competitions: First Prize for “Flame” (Paris, 2003), First Prize “Scarlatti” (Salzburg, 2007), Second Prize “Cittá di Marsala” (Italy, 2006). Other prizes include: “Baltic Piano Competition” (Poland, 2007), “Panama Piano Competition” (Panama, 2008), “Frechilla-Zuloaga” (Spain, 1999) and Vianna da Mota (Lisbon, 2010). He holds the top nine First Pizes in National Competitions.
Marín has offered recitals in European Concert Halls such as Gosser Saal of Mozarteum Salzburg –Salzburger Festpielen- International Piano Festival L’UNESCO and Salle Cortot the Paris, Concert and Congresgebauw Le Doelen Rotterdam, Salle Gothique de Bruxelles, Festival d’Echternach–Luxemburg, Seymour Center of Sydney, Palau de la Música and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia, Sala Mozart del Auditorio de Zaragoza, Auditorio Manuel de Falla de Granada, Real Maestranza de Sevilla,etc.
As a soloist Marín has been featured with well Known Orchestras including: Valencia Symphonic Orchestra, Castilla y León Symphonic Orchestra, Andrés Segovia Chamber Orchestra of Madrid, Torrent Symphonic Orchestra, Symphonic University Orchestra of Valencia, Elche Symphonic Orchestra, Rotterdam Ensemble, Alma Mater Chamber Orchestra of Lisboa, Soloists of Les Arts Symphonic Orchestra, Soloists of Reina Sofia Chamber Orchestra of Madrid. He has played under conductors such as Cristobal Soler, Sbobiju Dinic, Max Bragado, Lorenzo Ramos, Beltran Zavala, etc
He has played a Chamber recital invited by the Mahler Chamber Soloits (Barcelona, 2012).
He plays in duo recitals with the violist Josep Puchades, piccolo Francisco Varoch and cellist Rafal Jezierski.
Born in Valencia in 1978, he obtained a degree in superior studies with Joaquín Soriano in the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid. Following his studies brought him to Ramzi Yassa in L’Ecole Normale de Musique “Alfred Cortot” in París and “Codarts Virtuoso” (Rotterdam, Holland), under the direction of Master Aquilles Delle-Vigne. He has participated in master classes highlighting ones with Alicia de Larrocha, Solomon Mikowsky, Joaquín Achúcarro, Michel Beroff, Stanislav Pochekin, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Mario Monreal, Peter Bithel, Fausto di Cesare and Alexander Müllenbach.
He has recorded for T.V.E, Radio2 Classical R.N.E, Antena 2 Portugal, ORF Austria, He has been featured and broadcasted live on ABC FM from York Theater Sydney.
He has recorded a Cd for Edicions Albert Moraleda of Barcelona (works of Haydn), Codarts MEDIA, Holland (Sonata nº 6 Prokofiev and Fantasia Baetica of Falla) and L’Accademia Musicale di Firenze, with whom he recorded ”Reminiscencias de Don Giovanni” Franz Liszt. Recently he has recorded the Cd “Reencontro com Barroco” for the Associaçao Antonio Fragoso de Lisboa (works of Bach, Fragoso and Ravel).
He has been invited by the University of Valencia to teach a Pianist Interpretation Course since 2009.
