WELCOME AT THE INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL VALENCIA 1-10th of July 2013
The beautiful city of Valencia, Spain’s third biggest town, with a large cultural history with famous artists like Blasco Ibañez, Sorolla, Calatrava and Joaquin Rodrigo, is the base of the second edition of the International Music Festival Valencia, a project which was initiated last year with the ambition to convert the city into an international reference of musical education, attracting young talented musicians from Spain and other European countries.
The IMFV is an annual event which stimulates the encounter not only between musicians, but also strives to establish a direct contact between teachers, students and music lovers. We offer extensive coaching by international artists and teachers in instrumental-as well as theory and chamber music lessons in Spanish, English, French, German and Dutch.
A team of dedicated teachers, who all have an international career both as soloist and as teachers, will support and encourage you to develop your solo repertoire and your chamber music skills. The Festival is open for students of all level and age, professional students, young talents, as well as preformed ensembles who want to enjoy top level coaching on their repertoire.
Each student will receive five private lessons during the first week as well as three chamber music lessons in the last three days of the Festival.
New Awards!!! Apart from the SOTHIS Music Award we offer two new awards: second price: REVA Music Award, third price: CPMT Young Talent Award.
The International music Festival Valencia organizes a chamber music competition for all participants with the objective to give an impulse to the artistic career of those young musicians. The competition will take place at the 5th of July in the Conservatory of Torrent, Valencia. A jury will select three individual winners who will appear with their chamber music group or solo in a special concert on the 10th of July in the Concert Hall of the Conservatory of Torrent, Valencia. IMFV offers during the season 2013 – 2014 to the price winners and other participants a concert series ” Young Talents” in various emblematic places.
Guest teachers will give lectures and will share their professional experiences on interesting subjects as musical analysis, dealing with stress on the podium, violinmaking and-repair etc.
We organize five concerts, three of them in well-known places like Clemente Hall and the hall of the new Hospital La Fe, where all students can perform or individually or with their chamber music group and two concerts in the beautiful church of the Benificencia in the centre of Valencia where the teaching staff will perform.
